On y va: BlocBuster à Paris

December 29th 2016 - Roos de Boer

The first europe tour visit: starting at boulder gym BlocBuster in Paris. Lovely city to be in, they also got multiple bouldering places. At first HardBlock looked good, but then I saw the 3D-tunnel at BlocBuster in suburb Courbevoie.

The place is nice with luxuous bathing area, and good boulders. The tunnel was not worth the visit, acknoledged by no one being around the tunnel. It was a funny experience, and tricked into climbing a far distance. There is a slack line, however, in the smoking area so I did not set food there.

The atmosphere is good and I even got to chat with some fellow climbers. Felt right at home. The levels are a bit hard, starting with yellow 4's, I enjoyed myself with creatieve greens (5) and an occasional blue route.

Apart from climbing, there is a nice bar providing dinner as well, and a large training room including fitness area. Even better: there are multiple showers and a sauna in the changing rooms. Hidden behind a semi-mirror which means you can see people climbing from the sauna place. Miraculous!

Would not mind visiting BlocBuster again, if I weren't too curious about what the other bouldering gyms in Paris have in store. In the meanwhile, I will be striding along la seine. Salut!

What is the boulder tour?

Bouldering is a creative sport. A part of the challenge is to solve the puzzle that the route boulders have set up for you. This makes it very interesting to visit other gyms than just the one that is closest to you. Other wall shapes, other holds and volumes and above all other route setters will make this an interesting experience.
